NANGE LISETTE MALUNG Born 17/6/1990 in the littoral region. Holds a masters degree in theatre arts and cinematography and currently into PhD program in Art/Writing. Co-founder and president of the Visionary Theatre Troupe/Visionary Productions: has written 10 Plays as a playwright; 5 Short stories as a storyteller of which Aku a Mifi made her emerged as one of the Laureats for the National Writing Competition for Young Authors 2018 in Cameroon organized by the Ministry of Arts and Culture. She is also a filmmaker who wrote 5 screenplays not yet produced but with her short film MY CORE INDUBITABLY, she was laureat of 10days for 1 film, a screenwriting competion organised by the Goethe Institut in partnership with Ecrans Noirs and Filmarche. The film further emerged as winner for Best Short Film at the Red Feathers Awards, 2017 was further screened on October 29th, 2018 at the 3rd Afro-China Arts and Folklore festival held in Egypt. Wrote two screenplays titled STREET TIGER and IDENTITY in 2021 that was produced by Les Films Terre Africain of Bassek Ba Kobhio with sponsorship by UNICEF. She has also produced a documentary training video at Atok for an Indian based Power Transmission Line company-KALPATARU. As a theatre practitioner, has written, directed and produced many theatre performances with the Ministry of Arts and Culture, privately with FIAA, the Cameroon French Institute-IFC, the Goethe Institut and many independent creations at the Cameroon Cultural Centre. Winner (Visionary Theatre Troupe) for the competition Goethe-Decouverte 2018, organized by Goethe-Institut Kamerun. Winner for the first edition of the Cameroonian Cultural Network where she went on National Tour in four regions of Cameroon to stage her play THREE LADIES WITH A PRECIOUS STONE. Recently was privileged to partake in Theatre 237 organised by the Cameroon French Institute where she presented the same play on the stage of IFC both in Douala and Yaounde. Participated as an actress at the International Islamic Cooperation 2019 in Egypt.

The Tools Of Selected Anglophone Cameroon Playwrights And The Processes They Use In Writing Plays (2017)

This study entitled “The Tools of Selected Anglophone Cameroon Playwrights and the Processes They Use in Writing Plays” aimed at analysing the various tools Anglophone playwrights employ in writing drama scripts and the various processes they use in writing plays. Our findings have proven that one of the tools of the selected Anglophone Cameroon playwrights is choosing a topic. The selected playwrights have different methods of choosing their various topics. The first method is observing the society. They observe the society and collect raw materials for their plays. They also use material from important events in their society to write their plays. Moreover, they turn to history and use historical facts as materials for their plays. In the course of the analysis, I discovered that besides the methods used by the selected playwrights in collecting materials for their plays, playwrights from other parts of the world get material from newspapers, magazines, dreams and imaginations. Furthermore, language is one of the tools of the selected Anglophone Cameroon playwrights. These playwrights have flair in the multiple of languages (English language, French language, Pidgin English and local vernaculars) that they use to transmit messages to their respective readers and audiences. Notebooks, pencils, computers, typewriters, printers constitute another tool for Anglophone Cameroon playwrights. Turning to the processes of writing their plays, each playwright creates a plot which portrays the chain of incidents, characters, setting, place, themes and conflict. The style of each playwright depends on the type of play. All the selected playwrights use the same techniques but they differ in the manner of structuring their respective plays. Lastly, having studied the tools of the selected playwrights and the processes they employ in writing their plays, I think that I am sufficiently equipped to write different types of plays. Thus, I have validated the hypothesis of this work. Key Words : Playwright, Play, Tool and Process.
