Ngam Paul Go-oh was born on 31st October 1991 in Ndop in the Northwest region of Cameroon. He pursued his secondary education at GBHS Ndop, where he obtained the GCE Ordinary Level in 2010. He later went to CCAST Bambili where he obtained the GCE Advanced Level the following year, after which he moved to the university of Yaoundé 1 in 2011 where he majored in English Modern Letters. Having avid interest in film making, his stay in the department of English lasted just for one year as he resolved to sit the entrance exam into the Institute of Fine Arts, Foumban, and he was admitted into the Department of Performing Arts and Cinematography in 2012. In 2015, he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Cinematography Production. He enrolled into Master’s programme in the same department the following year. He later re-enrolled into the in the department of English (second year) at his Alma Mater (the University of Yaoundé 1) in the 2016 - 2017 academic year. He studied simultaneously at the Institute of Fine Arts and the University of Yaoundé 1 for two years. In 2018, he obtained a Master’s Degree in Cinematography Production and a Bachelor’s Degree in English Modern Letters. He later enrolled into the department of Arts and Archeology at the University of Yaounde 1 where he studied Performing Arts and Cinema and obtained a Master’s Degree in Film Criticisms in 2021. He is currently doing a PhD programme in the same field, and he is interested in exploring the impact of social media on the production and distribution of films in Cameroon. He has been teaching English Language and Literature in English at some secondary schools in Yaounde, including higher institutions such as IFCPA-CRTV Ekounou, the Institute of Fine Arts Foumban, and JIMIT Higher Institute of Professional Studies Yaounde, he is currently teaching Films Studies, Media Studies, Applied English, Business English and Communication. Ngam has directed a number of short films and music video clips during and after his years as a student, some of which are available on YouTube. Some of his movies are The Rich Fool, True Forgiveness, and Delilah. He is currently writing a play, a collection of poems and some movie scripts.

From Page To Screen : Cinematographic Adaptation Of Alobwed’ Epie’s Novel What A Next Of Kin Into A Fiction Film (2018)

Literature to film adaptation is a practice that has existed since the rise of cinema. It permits the transformation of a literary text into a work of cinema. This work titled From Page to Screen: Cinematographic Adaptation of Alobwed' Epie's Novel ""What a Next of Kin "" into a Fiction Film, has as objective, to adapt a novel of 140 pages, What a next of Kin into a 26-minute fiction film My successor. The problem was how and with which techniques of film making can we bring a novel of 140 pages titled ""What a next of kin"" into a 26minute film, modifying the storyline and addressing the problem of male chauvinism in the novel while keeping the main ideas or themes of the story? This Problem led to the formulation of hypothesis; given that literature and cinema are arts that deal with the recounting of events, it can be assumed that through closed reading and interpretation and during the rewriting of the story in a screenplay, the story line can be altered to address the problem of male chauvinism in the novel. To achieve the mentioned objective, we employed two methods for the adaptation of the novel into a screen play and for the realization of the screen play into a film. The Mathematical method of literary adaptation proposed by Alain Pangop Kameni was used for the adaptation while the method of Nicholas T. Proferes in the Work titled: Film Directing Fundamentals: See Your Movie Before Shooting, was employed in the production of the film. This Method led to the realization of a 26-minute movie “My Successor” based on the novel What a Next of Kin. RÉSUMÉ : L'adaptation cinématographique de la littérature est une pratique qui existe depuis la naissance du cinéma Il s'agit de transformer un texte littéraire en une ouvre de cinématographique. Ce travail intitule « From Page to Screen: Cinematographic Adaptation of Alobwed' Epie's Novel What a Next of Kin into a Fiction Film », a pour objectif d'adapter le roman What a Next of Kin qui compte 140pages en un film de fiction 26minutes intitule My successor. Ici nous avions comme problème, comment et avec quelles techniques cinématographiques pourrions-nous utiliser pour pourvoir adapte ce roman de 140pages en un film de 26-minutes en modifiant l'histoire s'attaquant au problème du machinisme dans le roman tout en préservant les idées principales et thèmes l'histoire. Ce problème nous a amené à la formulation de l'hypothèse suivante ; Étant donné que la littérature et le cinéma sont les arts qui traitent le récit des évènements nous pouvons supposer qu'à travers une lecture plus près l'interprétation ainsi qu’au cours de la réécriture de l'histoire dans un scenario, l'histoire peut être modifie pour adresser le problème du machisme dans le roman. Pour atteindre l'objectif mentionné, nous avions utilisé deux méthodes pour l'adaptation d'un roman en un scenario et pour la transformation du scenario en un film. La méthode mathématique de l'adaptation propose par Alain Pangop Kameni a été utilisé pour l'adaptation tandis que la méthode de Nicholas T. Proferes dans l'ouvrage intitulé : Film Directing Fundamentals See Your movie before shooting a été employé pendant la production du film. Cette méthode a donc conduit à la réalisation de « My successor » un film de 26 minutes basé sur le roman What A Next of Kin.
